The day before Rick Santorum made a campaign stop at a tea party gathering in Milwaukee, a Rasmussen poll of likely Wisconsin GOP voters had him down 13 points to frontrunner former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (46% to 33%). But if the former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania is considered the underdog in Wisconsin, he didn't act like one when making a strong pitch for the votes of the 1,000 or so folks gathered for the Americans for Prosperity conference at the Wyndham Hotel.
Attendees had to feel a bit special. Santorum and other speakers, including Congressman Paul Ryan, told the crowd just how important a role the Badger state would play in the GOP primary and general election in November. Ryan went as far to say that Wisconsin would determine the "pathway" of this nation. Now that's power.
What follows is an collection of reports, photos, and video from the conference, gathered using Storify.
