Last week, the Common Council voted on the controversial Judge Doyle Square project in a meeting that stretched well into the morning. While many expected the project would fail by a slim margin, it was approved by a 12-to-6 vote. Some alders said they had been swayed by the debate and a passionate appeal from Mayor Paul Soglin.
