Mayor Dave's weekly whereabouts would not be possible were it not for an email that arrives each Friday afternoon, courtesy of mayoral spokesman George Twigg. As has been widely chronicled, Twigg leaves his job, and Madison, this week. He'll be missed.
Mayor Dave Cieslewicz has been fortunate in having two spokespersons for whom humor is no stranger. Twigg and, before him, former Isthmoid Melanie Conklin, were always professional, but not above sharing a chuckle and often at their own expense. Twigg put up with this particular weekly tweak of the mayor's office and often emailed on Monday to share some insight or correct a gaffe. Whenever I ran into him at a bar or other unofficial event, he loved to chat about TDP and Forum and, unlike a lot of other public figures in town, took the often unflattering content therein in stride.
Good luck, George. Hopefully you'll remain this item's most loyal reader.
