It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the time for listicle countdowns! And what better way to commemorate our first year (nine months, if you want to get technical) with our brand-new website than to review the most-read lists.
How does an online story become a top story? A lot of times, it’s driven by Facebook. Kind of like that shampoo commercial from the ’80s (that I’m only able to reference because of Wayne’s World). You tell two friends, and then they tell two friends, and so on...and so on.... Google searches also land a lot of folks at isthmus.com, as do other avenues like Twitter and Reddit.
The top 10 list is heavy on news and opinion, especially with regard to a certain governor. It is also heavy on the Dave Cieslewicz, who appears in this list three times with three posts about a certain governor. Bill Lueders crushed it in 2015 as well, landing the number one and two spots and hogging one-third of the total page views for all the top 10 stories.
