Madison police arrest three men for allegedly shooting a 22-year-old man Thursday behind St. Dennis Catholic Church on Dempsey Road. The victim was treated for a gunshot wound to his neck.
Two members of the UW men's basketball team are arrested for burglary and underage drinking. Diamond Taylor and Jeremy Glover, both guards, allegedly stole items from numerous dorm rooms.

Fire damages two hairstyling salons and three apartments at 2402 E. Washington Ave. No one is injured.
A UW grad student is mugged on North Livingston Street early in the morning. The mugger pushes the man down from behind, taking his wallet, cellphone and keys, but tosses the keys back when the student says they are for his apartment. Madison, where even muggers are considerate.
William F. Williams, 57, allegedly beats a 41-year-old man in the head with a piece of lumber on North Broom Street. The victim is taken to the hospital with a serious head injury. Citizens help police find Williams.

A man who allegedly held up a bank on Cottage Grove Road in Blooming Grove is caught after a high-speed car and foot chase. Theodore Rush, 33, is being held at the Dane County jail.

Former congressman Mark Neumann, a Republican, formally announces his campaign for governor. Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, also a Republican, has already declared. Possible Democratic candidates include Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and U.S. Rep. Ron Kind.
