Advance tickets sales for Sundance Cinemas 608 are now available online and at theater kiosks. The new movie theater at Hilldale Mall -- featuring six screens, stadium seating, a cafe, two bars and a restaurant -- opens officially to the public on Friday, May 11.
There are three ways to purchase tickets for the theater. While the box office will not be open until noon on Friday, tickets for the opening slate of six movies can now be bought online and at the four kiosks at the mall entrance for the theater. Additionally, one can select specific seats with these advance sales, though there is a fee accompanying this option.
The process is pretty basic, with ticket sales available either in advance or for the current day (starting Friday).
In sequence, one simply chooses a date and screening time for the desired film. Then one selects the number of tickets (for adults, seniors, and/or children), and subsequently can choose advance any available seats in the appropriate auditorium.
At that point, one can check out and make the purchase with their name, email, and credit card information, with the option of either printing the tickets at home or picking them up at the box office or kiosk.
Both ticket prices and the preferred seating fee vary, depending upon the time and day of the screening. For example, an adult ticket to the Friday screening of Black Book at 9:30 p.m. is $8.75 for adults and $6.25 for seniors and children, with a uniform $3.00 fee for each. Matinee screenings, on the other hand, are $6.25 across the board for the ticket and $1.50 for the fee. Descriptions of each movie screening at the theater are also available through this purchasing system.
Sundance has also issued a floor plan of the theater. There are six two-story auditoriums screens in the complex, with the cafe located on the first floor and the bar bistro on the second. The rooftop bar, meanwhile, occupies the third floor.
At this point, only the first week's slate of films -- After the Wedding, Air Guitar Nation, Away from Her, Black Book, TV Set and Waitress -- has been released.
