Film fest organizers announced the winners of its two audience awards on Wednesday afternoon. The offbeat love story Wristcutters won the Wisconsin Film Festival Audience Award for Best Narrative Film, and the Ugandan story of hope told in War/Dance won the Wisconsin Film Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary Film.
Wristcutters screened twice at the Orpheum Stage Door on Friday night and Saturday morning at the festival. "It was so dark inside the crammed space, finding a seat was nearly impossible," writes The Daily Page contributor Emily Denaro in her review of the film. "The film was so good, however, even those who had to kneel stayed until the credits."
