While some folks consider Halloween on State Street to be a waning event, the hype over the holiday continues to spread well beyond Wisconsin's borders. One of the latest media outlets to get in on the act is the video clip comparing the party scenes follows.
This is only one of a series of videos from the Big Ten Network pitting two state universities. The other clips feature an Alumni Battle, a comparison between the Wisconsin women's hockey team and a tribute to Neil Armstrong at the Purdue School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, a look at entomology at Wisconsin versus cancer research at Purdue, an examination of the histories of the two universities, and finally, a competition on which school boasts the superior campus, in which a student from each university goes head-to-head in a quiz bowl about their football programs' history, campus goings-on, and the wannabe cable network itself.
While the Badgers are not playing the Boilermakers this season, they are playing the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday for their Homecoming game. Much like last week's blowout against Northern Illinois, this is also a must-win for the team. Though they are now bowl eligible, the Badgers need momentum for their pair of upcoming games against Big Ten leaders Ohio State and Michigan.
Perhaps another video from the Big Ten Network is more apropos, at least in terms of football instead of Halloween. Back in mid-September, the School of Rock series contrasted the art and coffee scene in Evansville against the late summer scene on the Memorial Union Terrace. Again, no contest.
