If you're seeking a window into the state of the underage music scene in Madison, one good place to start is always the Loft at the Lussier Teen Center on East Washington Avenue.
The all-ages venue played host to five bands last Friday. The headliners, Cute Is What We Aim For, were promoted as exemplars of how new indie rock groups can build a following through online social networking. They were joined by their musically like-minded compatriots All Time Low, This Providence, Brighten, and Cambridge, the latter a four-piece that calls La Crosse and Madison home.
More telling than the number of MySpace friends each group boasts are the number of videos already published online from a show that took place less than three days ago. Attendees armed with cell phones and digital cameras shot more than 40 clips of the concert, capturing snippets of nearly every band's performance.
Links to these videos from the concert follow below, including one clip featuring All Time Low playing 'Coffee Shop Soundtrack.'
