Fantastic Mr. Fox: Using stop-motion animation, Wes Anderson adapts a lesser-known Roald Dahl story about a fox (George Clooney) who finds himself the target of the three farmers from whom he steals his meals. The Men Who Stare at Goats: A journalist (Ewan McGregor) in Iraq bumps into the story of a lifetime, the Army's experiments in the paranormal. Too many tiny blunders keep this from being a triumph, but George Clooney's psychic-spy performance is deceptively layered, and there is pleasure in the cockeyed point of view.
