The Cold Light of Day: When his family is kidnapped, a Wall Street trader (Henry Cavill) and his spy dad (Bruce Willis) must outsmart the captors. Though this should be a kick-ass action movie, it's as generic as store-brand cornflakes.

Seven Psychopaths: A wild collection of characters, including a struggling actor (Sam Rockwell) and a professional dog-kidnapper (Christopher Walken), help distract a screenwriter (Colin Farrell) from his writer's block. With a terrific cast and clever conversations, this movie proves that Martin McDonagh is one of the most inventive comic filmmakers in the world.
