The first same-sex couple seeking a marriage license in Dane County following the ban's reversal arrived shortly after the decision was released.
A federal judge reversed Wisconsin's ban on same-sex marriage in a decision issued late Friday, June 6. In Madison, numerous excited couples applied for marriage licenses at the Dane County Clerk's office and were wed on the front steps of the City-County Building through the evening.
