P.S. Mueller leads off Isthmus' Getting Married supplement with a preview of '90s wedding alternatives. He foresees the Politically Correct Plan: "The ceremony will be performed jointly in the Church of the Third World by a dissident priest and an atheist from Beloit, with representatives from the ACLU standing by." In the Power Wedding, "the announcements will be faxed by your respective secretaries"; and for the Second Time Around, "everybody must be invited to a second wedding, especially all the folks you slighted when you eloped in '72.... You'll need tents, concessions, medical personnel and a clown to keep the stepkids out of the rhododendrons." Mueller married the artist Deb Gottschalk in 1989, in a small ceremony with a rented preacher in the living room of his in-laws' farmhouse. The couple will mark their 21st anniversary in March.
