Council Members
I am a lifelong Madison resident and police officer of 25yrs, currently a detective with Madison. After reading the Tempe Dr. article I have to say the writing is on the wall. The Allied neighborhood is being displaced in pockets all over the city. Serious crime in these areas occurs more frequently and there is no pattern to it. I was just told by a lady this week that many from her project home in Robert Taylor has come to Madison and we will likely see some "bad things."
Madison needs a definitive plan on the growth and support of troubled neighborhoods. We are just pushing the problem around. You will have to add 30 cops a year if this type of crime rate continues. With the services the city currently provides we will continue to be a magnet. You will see establish neighborhoods change and new pockets of troubled neighborhoods rise...?I urged you to examine this before the problem becomes unmanageable.
Respectfully, Bruce Frey
