Q. When is Green Day?
A. Saturday, April 26, 2008. It is the Saturday after Earth Day.
Q. What are the event hours?
A. 9 am to 6 pm. It is open to the public all day long.
Q. Where is Green Day?
A. Green Day is in the first-level exhibition hall at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, located at One John Nolen Drive in Madison, WI 53703. It is on the shore of Lake Monona in downtown Madison, two blocks from the State Capitol building.
Q. Where can I park?
A. If you can't bus or bike to the event, Monona Terrace offers 600 on-site parking spaces in a cashier-operated parking structure accessible via East Wilson St. and the eastbound lanes of John Nolen Dr. Parking is $4/day on Saturday and does not allow for re-entry.
Q. How many people will attend Green Day?
A. Isthmus anticipates 5,000 to 10,000 people will attend.
Q. Can kids come to Green Day?
A. Yes! Isthmus Green Day is a family-friendly event that will have day-long children's activities sponsored by Madison's Children's Museum and Aldo Leopold Nature Center.
Q. How much does it cost to get in?
A. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. If you bus or bike to the event, you get in free. Children under 12 get in for free.
Q. What will I see at Green Day?
A. You can peruse 100 booths representing a wild variety of topics and groups, including but not limited to home and garden; health, beauty and fitness; recreation; transportation; and food. Speakers will include Kenneth Brown, Nora Pouillon, Sam Breidenbach, Jon Foley, Susan Schmitz and many more. Madison's self-proclaimed sustainable band, The Kissers, will close the evening.
Q. Who is Kenneth Brown?
A. He is the star of Home & Garden Television's (HGTV) reDesign and one of Los Angeles' most sought-after interior designers. He is known for his eco-friendly design and is launching an eco-friendly design show on HGTV next year. You can find out more here: http://www.kennethbrowndesign.com/.
Q. Can I buy a booth at Green Day?
A. Yes. We have limited booth space for both non-profit and for-profit organizations and businesses. Please e-mail faith@isthmus.com for pricing information.
Q. What sizes are the booths?
A. Each booth is 10' by 10'. Each booth comes with 8' high backwall drape (color of green or gold), 3' high sidewall drape, 7" by 44" identification sign, and 8' skirted table and two chairs.
Q. When can I set up/take down my booth?
A. You can set up your booth on Friday, April 25 from 4 pm to 10 pm and Saturday, April 26 from 6 am to 8:30 am. All booths MUST be complete by Saturday, April 26 at 8:30 am. You can take down your booth on Saturday, April 26 from 5:30 pm to 10 pm.
Q. Can I sell at Green Day?
A. If you have purchased a booth, you can sell items from your booth. However, you must first obtain a state sales permit from the Department of Revenue.
Q. Can I sample food at Green Day?
A. Yes, you can sample food as long as the food is three ounces or smaller and you comply with health department regulations concerning the storage, preparation and distribution of food items.
