Don't miss the fifth annual Isthmus Green Day expo. Running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday, April 21, it will be held at Monona Terrace in downtown Madison. Mark your calendars -- it's all about making a few smart decisions and simple changes, to clean up our planet and ensure a greener future. Besides seeing Mark Bittman, there are plenty of other reasons to come out this year!
The presentations at the expo will be both informational and entertaining. Madeleine Para of the Citizens Climate Lobby discusses activism and participation for changing our environment. Jim Lorman and Kathryne Auerback from the Edgewood College Sustainability Leadership Graduate Program look at a sustainable life of abundance. David McClellan of Calvert Investments and Mary Strickland of R.W. Baird Co. will speak about socially responsible investing.
You can even learn about getting your hands dirty (and clean) at Isthmus Green Day! Megan Cain from Community Groundworks will give you tips on organic gardening. Kayla Baake from Madison Environmental Group will show you all about eco-friendly laundry and cleaning techniques. Additionally, our Movement stage will have your body moving with our yoga and pilates demonstrations. This celebration of green living will once again have something for everyone!
If you come this year with an item to donate to Goodwill, you will be entered into a contest to win one of our fabulous prizes courtesy of Madison Frogbox. You could win: a 26" Giant Transport DX With front and rear racks, fully loaded, from Budget Bicycle Center; a gardening tool set including a reel mower, a weed and root remover, and an Eco Bin composter from Fiskars; and, a getaway for two at the Green Apple Inn!
