Last year, planning our publishing schedule for 2009, we were pretty sure that on this week, the 11th issue of the year, we would be producing the spring installment of IBQ - Isthmus Books Quarterly. As you are aware, the best-laid plans of all publishing entities have been drastically revised in light of the scrambled economy. So we have said goodbye to IBQ and instead say hello this week to IBO - Isthmus Books Online.
Before anyone starts panicking, or making remarks about being in the buggy whip business, let us note that we are talking about coverage of perhaps the oldest information technology device extant. Books are proof that one writes off the proven technologies at one's peril.
Nonetheless, old meets new in IBO, and they'll both be the better for it. Freed from the quarterly publishing schedule, we'll be able to get book news to you sooner and more often. Articles regarding literary matters will appear on TheDailyPage.com in the "daily" section, and those, along with similar items appearing in Isthmus, will be aggregated on the books page (
