A quick check of arrival and departure information for Dane County Regional Airport shows the cancellation of one flight incoming from Chicago's O'Hare airport, the cancellation of one flight departing for O'Hare, and two delays on departures to O'Hare -- one of more than 90 minutes and a later flight showing a delay of almost three hours. All other flights are listed as on time in the mid-afternoon but in weather like this it's advisable to check out the DCRA flight arrival and departure tracker for updates, before heading to the airport.
Light snow accumulation is expected to continue through the evening and night into early Saturday morning. These conditions arrive right on time for Winter Weather Awareness Week, which starts next Monday. There's more discussion about today's thundersnow on TDPF.
