Rain Delay

Do you like rain? Hopefully so, because after the overnight drenching there's more forecast for Friday afternoon, followed by light snow on into Saturday. At least you're not in northwest Wisconsin, though, where there's a winter storm warning, and even blizzard conditions in the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior. There are still repercussions from the rain in these parts, though. As noted by Hauser:
The popular Big Wheel series races were called off today at the Playhaven track in Sun Prairie, WI. Major spring storms throughout the Midwest resulted in flooded track conditions. Said one popular local racer (age 4), "It's frustrating. You train and train to get to peak readiness, only to have the big race called due to weather. But there will be another day, and other races." Track officials were concerned that additional rain and snow showers on Friday would keep the track closed through the weekend.
Indeed, the heavy rains have also led to the closing of the Yahara Hills and Glenway golf courses in Madison, while all scheduled athletic games in City of Madison parks have been cancelled through Sunday. There's hope, though. Sunny skies and warmer temperatures are forecast for the new week, as spring gradually eases itself into Wisconsin following the record-breaking winter.
