James Madison Glaze
Today's image is titled "James Madison Glaze" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
The combination of stiff winds and unseasonably cool temperatures is making for an icy waterfront along the shores of Madison's lakes. This photo shows a thick glaze of ice coating everything within five to ten yards of the beach at James Madison Park, be it concrete, grass, or light pole. This slippery surface should remain in place at least through the weekend, with conditions forecast to remain below or near freezing for the next couple of days.
