Year-end Rush
Today's image is titled "Year-end Rush" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
Despite the short work week sandwiched between two major holidays, evening rush hour traffic streaming out of downtown Madison remains brisk, including on this primary artery to and from the isthmus. As the year ends, so does a third stage in the East Washington Reconstruction Project, which started in 2004 and is projected to run until the end of the decade. With the return of road construction season in 2007, a large segment from Second Street to Milwaukee Street is scheduled for overhaul.
