A friend for Overture
Today's image is titled "A friend for Overture" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
Another day, another building in downtown Madison prepares for a public unveiling. On Tuesday, this became the new home of the Associated Bank branch at the top of the 200 block of State Street. The building now sports commercial space on the fourth floor and a new glass elevator facing the Overture Center. It also features a limestone faÃade that is recycled from the old Yost's building demolished for the construction of the Overture Center.
Developer and former restaurateur Gus Paras (he opened both the Parthenon and the long-gone Kosta's on State Street) owns the building; the renovations should be complete by the time spring officially arrives. More details about the project can be found in a profile published in Wisconsin Builder.
