Johnson and Francis garage
Today's image is titled Johnson and Frances garage and was photographed by Michael Leland.
This photo shows a plow-assisted pile of snow nearly two stories high leaning against a corner of the parking garage at the corner of West Johnson and South Frances streets, just a block from the Kohl Center.
Over the course of the winter storm that socked Madison (and most of the rest of Wisconsin) over the weekend, snowfall totals officially reached 13.5" at the Dane County Regional Airport and 16.7" in Middleton. Totals throughout the county ranged from 13" to 17", with the heaviest accumulation statewide falling to the northwest near La Crosse. More details about snowfall totals are available in a preliminary report published by the National Weather Service.
More information and anecdotes about this late-winter storm can be found in Blogging the Blizzard of 2007.
