It's not often that one gets to see the Concerts on the Square, which opens tonight, June 25, with a performance titled "Gershwin and Friends" that features guest performer Wendy Chen on the piano. It will be the first of six shows on the city and state's central lawn over the summer, with the orchestra performing from the same location in front of the King Street entrance to the Capitol. Of course, the musicians will be in formal dress and the Square will be inundated with throngs of picnickers.
