Fireworks at dusk
Today's image is titled Fireworks at dusk and was photographed by Lea Wolf.
This photo shows the opening of the Rhythm and Booms show on Saturday night at Warner Park as the last glimmers of dusk faded from the western horizon over Lake Mendota. "The rain and mosquitoes threatened all day but we were spared of both in the end," notes Wolf in the caption. "It ended up being a beautiful night for fireworks."
The Madison Police Department estimated the turnout for the event at between 150,000 and 175,000 people, with only ten arrests made through the day and evening. "The bulk of the event was extremely positive and the crowds were generally well-behaved," note the police.
