Today's image is titled Badger Boats and was photographed by Dawn Perry.
The bulk of southern Wisconsin is under a wind advisory until 7 p.m. this Thursday evening, these breezes the first tendrils of a particularly large storm system that will be blowing through the upper Midwest this afternoon. As reported by the Milwaukee/Sullivan office of the National Weather Service:
Strong south winds can be expected across Wisconsin today. Wind speeds are expected to reach 20 to 35 mph with occasional gusts to near 45 mph... especially during the afternoon.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a strong cold front between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. These thunderstorms are likely to be severe, producing significant damaging wind gusts, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Once the thunderstorms develop, they should track to the northeast at nearly 60 mph!
