Wheels on Willy
Today's image is titled Wheels on Willy and was photographed by Emily Mills.
Sunday, May 20 marked the 20th Annual Dave Kagy Memorial and the writes: "Awesome teamwork feels great! My peak 30s power (529W) was to bridge up to a solo breakaway rider with 4 laps to go. We got caught with one to go. I was dead but sprinted anyway and I placed maybe 17 or so." Another racer notes the new course in place for 2007, as well as a conspicuous crash and a win for a friend. Then there's Brian Carlson, who improved on 2006's third-place finish to win this time around. "It felt great to win today because it was a race that I picked out at the beginning of the year and really tried to focus on, and it turned out exactly as I had hoped," he declares. "Our group is a great bunch of guys, and I'm so glad that we still have quite a few races to do yet this year; this is a lot of fun."
This photo was taken from the corner of Williamson and Dickinson streets, directly across the race path from Cronometro. "I caught the Men's Masters group and the Women's Open," notes Mills in the description for her Isthmus group photo pool is the primary source for Madison Snaps, which are published here with the permission of individual contributors.
