Antique Texture
Today's image is titled Antique Texture and was photographed by Dawn Perry.
Perry describes the photo: "I loved the texture and colours on the commemorative plaque of the Women's Memorial Statue at the Capitol on State Street, Madison, WI." This statue is named Forward, and is a recast bronze version of the original sculpture created by Jean Pond Miner in 1893 in advance of the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. More details about the history of the statue are explained by the Wisconsin Historical Society.
There is a larger version of the photo in the gallery at right.
