A Glowing Madison Morning
Today's image is titled A Glowing Madison Morning and was photographed by Michael Ejercito.
When one thinks of the Madison skyline, the view as seen from the southerly approach of John Nolen Drive is the classic image that comes to mind. This photo, which Ejercito describes as "taken just as the sun was coming up over Lake Monona" outdoes any postcard photo I've seen of the city. The calm yet oceanic look of the lake below and the low hanging clouds above sandwich the warmth of the morning sun falling upon the city, from the burned-out remains of St. Ray's at left to the Capitol to Monona Terrace to the Marina condos at right. As much as this perspective of the city has been made cliché through overuse, this photo breathes a glow of new life into the view.
