Mounds
Today's image is titled Goodland County Park. Found on the western shore of Lake Waubesa in the Town of Dunn, it is one of a group of four effigy mounds -- three linear and one conical -- that are collectively known as the Baum Mound Group. They are arrayed in a cluster, stretching primarily from a service road through the park towards the shore, and directly across the lake from others at Sigglekow Park and Indian Mound Park in McFarland. There are more views of the Baum mounds and several others in Dane and Rock counties in a supplement to the "Native Journeys" program, part of the Wisconsin Stories series on Wisconsin Public Television.
