Hundreds of folks turned out at the High Noon Saloon on Wednesday night for a Thanksgiving Eve party hosted by Marcus King and Thee Royalty. The size of the crowd at the downtown club was no surprise to owner Cathy Dethmers, who said both bands were a good draw for the mid-week, pre-holiday show. The Sweethearts got the fun started and the crowd dancing, followed by the funk and soul from the new Madison supergroup of Thee Royalty, who were playing only their second show ever. It was a great way to start the long holiday weekend.
