Today's image is titled The Path Less Taken and was photographed by Michael Ejercito.
Shot in October 2006, this photo shows a trail on Picnic Point on the UW Lakeshore Nature Preserve. "This was one of the smaller paths off of the main path where my wife and I enjoyed a stroll in the woods admiring the fall leaves," writes Ejercito in the caption. Foliage around Madison is currently at 50%-75% of the forecast seasonal zenith, as noted in the fall color report from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. Peak foliage is expected to occur within the next two weeks.
