Today's image is titled "Bicycle Warning!" and was photographed by Kristian Knutsen.
The signs of the season are everywhere as the annual Halloween revelry in downtown Madison is only a couple of days away. This week, the Madison Police Department posted signs on bike racks up and down State Street warning users that all bicycles would need to be removed by 6 a.m. on Friday, otherwise they would be impounded. They read:
Warning!

The City of Madison bicycle rack at this location will be removed to a secure location in accordance with Madison General Ordinance 12.762.
Alternate bicycle parking is available on all cross streets, in City of Madison parking ramps, and on racks near the Capitol Square.
If you believe your bike or moped was removed by the Madison Police Department, please call:
MPD PROPERTY SECTION: 267-8611
Please provide a description of your bike or moped as well as the location it was removed from.
This notice is credited to Chief Noble Wray and was dated October 22.
It may be a hassle, but one quite necessary. After all, you wouldn't want your bike in the middle of a Freakfest, would you?
