The judges next chose "Playing for Keeps,"
A submission from the imaginative deeps
Of Madison's Gillian Nevers, who reaps
Second place for her compositional leaps.
And for third prize, the judges of the Académe
Chose yet another Madison gem --
A third local woman (in French, that's femme)
Christina Olson, for her poem "Blood, Bile, Phlegm."
The contest's three winners get all kinds of cool prizes,
And a reading with runners-up (in all shapes and sizes),
And publication. So these poets the Academy recognizes
Must surely be gratified. At least, one surmises.
