Lily Tomlin has entertained several generations. The talented chameleon played to a full house at Overture Hall on Friday, June 12, earning hoots and hollers from the audience as she repeatedly raked Governor Scott Walker (and his presidential aspirations) over the coals. In an energetic 90-minute set, she revisited classic characters like Ernestine the Telephone Operator, Trudy the Bag Lady and four-year-old Edith Ann. She shows no signs of slowing down, currently starring as a newly divorced septuagenarian in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie and in an upcoming Sundance winner, Grandma.
In advance of her appearance, Stu Levitan talked to the 2014 Kennedy Center Honoree for his radio show Books & Beats on 92.1 The Mic.
