David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson are known by cinema scholars around the world as the duo that wrote Film Art: An Introduction, required reading for virtually every Film 101 course. In last week’s Isthmus cover story, Laura Jones, a graduate of New York University’s film department, interviewed Bordwell and Thompson, finding the two Madison-based scholars as approachable as they are knowledgeable.
