Madison Opera will present its 12th annual Opera in the Park concert this Saturday, July 13. The free community event begins at 8 p.m. in Garner Park. The rain date is Sunday, July 14.
Conductor John DeMain will lead the Madison Symphony Chorus, Madison Symphony Orchestra and guest soloists in a performance of works from the company's upcoming season. The soloists -- soprano Caitlin Cisler, soprano Alexandra LoBianco, tenor Brian Jagde and baritone Nmon Ford -- are among America's finest young stars.
Opera in the Park typically features a variety of opera and Broadway selections. This weekend's program includes Puccini's "Recondita Armonia" from Tosca, Donizetti's "Chacun le sait" from The Daughter of the Regiment, Jake Heggie's "He Will Gather Us Around" from Dead Man Walking, and Leonard Bernstein's "Glitter and Be Gay" from Candide.
