Pixies at Orpheum Theatre on Oct. 12: The influence of this band's 1989 opus, Doolittle, is hard to dispute, and their brand of alt-rock has aged well, considering what else was popular 25 years ago. (Milli Vanilli, anyone?)
Rodrigo y Gabriela at Orpheum Theatre on Oct. 22: The duo's fan base of guitar nerds and world music lovers has gained some metalheads following the release of this spring's 9 Dead Alive, which proves hard-rocking acts like Black Sabbath have shaped the act's careers just as much as nuevo flamenco artists.
Morgan Page at Segredo on Nov. 8: The DJ draws huge crowds to festivals like Coachella, even when lots of competing EDM events are happening. This is his only Wisconsin performance in 2014, so expect to meet fans from parts of the state that aren't as concert-rich as Madison.
Wildcat! Wildcat! at the Frequency on Nov. 15: After racking up raves from the likes of Time and NYLON, this trio should have no trouble filing a venue with a capacity of 100 or so. Their debut EP is a lovely collection of indie pop sure to attract folks who love falsetto vocals.
