Goodman South Madison Library 2222 S. Park St. (Village on Park), Madison, Wisconsin 53713
press release: Sign up for a 20 minute spot to read a story you choose to one of these gentle animals who will LOVE to hear you read: Jessie Joy, the Border Collie; Danny, the Collie; Nutmeg, the Lab; Dublin, the Lab; Bailey, the Golden Retriever; Kirbi, the Kelpie mix; and Buddy, the Mini-Golden Doodle. All dogs are registered pet therapy dogs through Therapy Dogs, Inc. Children under age 14 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a form allowing the child to participate. All children under 7 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Sign up in person at the library each month. Reading to a Dog helps your child relax, open up and feel good about reading -- it can help a shy child or a child who is having trouble learning to read gain confidence and skills in a fun, nonjudgmental environment.
