As we gear up for our 26th fest, we are thrilled to announce our venue plans for WFF 2024, including some old favorites, and some brand-new (to us). We’ll of course be back at our mainstays:
* UW Cinematheque, our year-round home base. Don’t wait until April to watch movies—our December offerings include a 4K restoration of Raging Bull, Crumb on 35mm, and two early films by Ashgar Farhadi. All for free!
* Marquee Cinema at Union South. WUD’s also got the free-movie goods coming up, from Barbenheimer to Eyes Wide Shut and The Apartment.
* Chazen Museum of Art. Check out what’s on.
We’ll be lighting up the screen at a couple venues of yesteryear:
* The Barrymore Theatre. Don’t miss the return of homegrown heroes (and WFF 2023 guests) Found Footage Festival this Sunday night!
* The Bartell Theatre. Our first time back since 2012!
And finally, check out our new digs:
* Music Hall. Beautiful theater at the base of Bascom Hill, home to University Opera.
* Flix Brewhouse. Our preferred spot to take in the latest blockbusters and Miyazaki masterpieces.
Wisconsin Film Festival tickets will be available to the general public starting Saturday March 9, online at noon CST. Additionally, our in-person box office at the Barrymore Theatre will be open from noon to 4 pm for those who prefer to purchase tickets in person! (There is no cost savings by buying tickets in person, and our online ticketing system has been smooth and easy for the past three years!)
