A Report from the Climate Change Conference in Paris

press release: Professor Jonathan Patz is leading a session on Energy and Health at the World Health Organization side conference to the Paris Climate Change Conference, or COP21. He will speak at Capitol Lakes shortly after returning to Madison.
Patz is professor of population and health sciences and director of UW-Madison's Global Health Institute. He is a distinguished expert in the study of effects of the environment on health, with a focus on assessing the effects of climate change on public health.
For over 15 years, he has been a lead author for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – the organization that shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore.
He was the organizer and host speaker for the UW Open Online Course Climate Change Policy and Public Health. His report on the Paris conference will be a follow-up to the offering of that course at Capitol Lakes.
