Affinity Trio
The Affinity Trio has held down a weekly residency (currently Saturdays) at the Mason Street Grill in Milwaukee for a few years now, and it’s easy to see why when listening to their debut album, Hindsight. The album’s songs feature driving, uncluttered arrangements giving room for all three players — trumpeter Eric Jacobson, bassist Clay Schaub, and pianist Pamela York — to shine. This BlueStem Jazz concert should be a winner in the cozy confines of the North Street Cabaret.
BlueStem Jazz.
media release: Affinity Trio consists of Eric Jacobson on trumpet, Clay Schaub on bass, and Pamela York on piano. Individually, they have worked with some of the biggest names in the jazz world: Benny Golson, Phil Woods, Jeff Hamilton, John Clayton, Bruce Barth, Brian Lynch, Greg Tardy, Frank Morgan, etc.
The trio held a regular Monday night residency at the Mason Street Grill in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 2021-2024. Performing without a drummer, Affinity Trio creates an intimate ambience with a strong rhythmic groove. Their repertoire includes standards from the Great American Songbook, original music, and bebop.
Affinity Trio's debut recording, Hindsight, was ranked Top 55 on the national jazz charts, and is now available on Origin Records.
