21-year old Ann Arbor-based Ani Mari has been writing and performing music in the Midwest since she was 13. Her album, Girlfriend, is a combative take on coming of age. But she has a sense of joy and gracefulness in her music as well and rocks somewhere between the lines of Liz Phair and Ratboys. Madison’s own Dana Perry Band opens.
