Goodman Community Center-Ironworks 149 Waubesa St., Madison, Wisconsin 53704
press release: Professor of communication Steve Macek will discuss...
· The traditional importance of tenure as a guarantor of academic freedom and robust intellectual debate
· Efforts to defame harass and persecute academics, including censure and suspension of scholars without due process
· How, by presenting outrageously offensive speakers, some groups bait opponents into violating free speech rights and into violence itself — causing the University of Wisconsin System to recently adopt draconian “free speech” policies.
