Join Mayrent Institute director Henry Sapoznik for a discussion of the recently discovered Thomas Lambert Yiddish cylinder recordings. Released by the Chicago-based Thomas Lambert Company between 1901 and 1903, these cylinders represent the earliest known recordings of Yiddish music and trace Yiddish theater’s journey from its European provenance to its reinvention as an American art form.
