Two Crows' winter season launches with this two-actor horror-thriller about a fateful Antarctic adventure at the turn of the century. Before the Mountains of Madness was penned by APT veteran David Daniel, is directed by Two Crows founder Marcus Truschinski, and stars Nate Burger and Neil Brookshire. Truschinski likens the play to horror tales not unlike those by the master storyteller H.P. Lovecraft. An intentionally bare stage amps the imaginative stakes. Read Rebecca Jamieson’s preview of the Two Crows' season here. Performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.

The first World Premiere Wisconsin production of 2026 will open on 1/22/26 with Two Crows Theatre Company’s production of Before the Mountains of Madness by David Daniel, a beloved Wisconsin actor and writer. An adaptation of HP Lovecraft’s slow-burning horror novella, this Antarctic thriller can cure the cabin fever of a Wisconsin January in the same way we hope the Packers playoffs will–by watching folks who are even colder than you.
Starring two of Wisconsin’s favorites, Neil Brookshire and Nate Burger, and directed by Two Crows’ Producing Artistic Director, Marcus Truschinski, this chilling adventure is sure to be a fantastic showcase of humanity facing the edge–and perhaps the end–of the world. Experience this world premiere in the charming town of Spring Green. Tickets are selling fast.
