The loud buzz that emanated from Eau Claire long after last year’s Blue Ox Festival concluded was caused by the four-piece female bluegrass sensation that is Big Richard. Avett Brothers? Sam Bush? Meh. The talk was all about this neo-trad, mountain-friendly quartet from Colorado. Purists may blink at the presence of a cello. But they’ll get over it in a hurry.
