Sat Oct 19 10am "Native Plant Workshop" Bird and Nature Adventure at Landsness Lot 538 McCormick at end of Commercial Ave, meet at picnic tables, bring water, no bathrooms
Join Naturalist Jeff Steele for a hands-on Native Plant Workshop. Learn about identifying native plants, collecting seed, seed germination over winter and spring planting on a short walk to see native wildflower plantings along Starkweather Creek. Be ready to get your hands dirty! Seeds and materials will be provided to make and take home your very own mini-greenhouse using a milk jug, a bit of soil, and some collected native wildflower seeds. Simply set the jugs outside over winter to freeze and sprout naturally. Next summer you can plant what you grow and donate any extra plants to Plant Dane for schools and community centers.
