Birds of Chicago
Our House 451 N. Few St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: BIRDS OF CHICAGO, Friday, February 21. We’re thrilled that the Birds are coming back for their third visit to Our House. Now based in Nashville, they are on the rise on the national Americana music scene. Imagine a rough-edged vinegary country voice up against a soulful sound as smooth as honey. Singer/Songwriter JT has the heart of a rock and roll man, with the lyrics of a serious poet and a voice reminiscent of John Prine. By contrast, Alli’s voice can soar like a holy righteous gospel singer one minute, then float soft as silk on the next song. Blend in her swooping clarinet or hard-strumming banjo with JT’s guitar work, and you’ve got a unique joyful sound full of light and shadows, dark melancholy and bright hope.
$25 for adults, $20 for age 17 and under.
