BoDeans
Mineral Point Opera House 139 High St., Mineral Point, Wisconsin 53565
press release: The Mineral Point Opera House will launch its 2021-22 season, and its return from hiatus due to COVID-19, by welcoming in rock-n-roll favorites BoDeans for their first-ever appearance in A Theatre For All The People.
Those who have followed BoDeans’ remarkable 30-year musical career know that their blend of compelling songs and high energy performances have retained an unpretentious rock & roll loyal following like no other. Best known for their catchy single, “Closer To Free,” the band’s accessible adult alternative sound has led to many a milestone, including a Rolling Stone Reader’s Poll for Best New American Band in 1987, and support slots with U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, George Thorogood, The Pretenders, David Bowie and numerous others.
Aug. 17 update: Due to the resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the area and the prevalence of new, more infectious variants of the disease, the Mineral Point Opera House has updated its mitigation policy in the following manner:
Effective September 1, admission to Opera House events will require proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination from no less than 14 days before the day of the event, or be in possession of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test from within the previous 72 hours.
Effective October 1, admission to Opera House events will require proof of fully vaccinated status for no less than 14 days before the day of the event, or be in possession of a negative test from within the previous 72 hours.
Attendees to all-age events who are not yet old enough to receive the vaccine will be admitted with proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test within the previous 72 hours.
We will accept the following as proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a professionally administered (physician, clinic, pharmacy, etc.) negative COVID-19 diagnostic test, along with matching photo ID:
- The original COVID-19 vaccination document or negative test result
- A physical paper copy of either document
- A snapshot on your mobile device of either document
- At home tests will not be accepted
In accordance with city of Mineral Point policies for all municipal buildings, all audience members, staff, volunteers, and performers must continue to wear masks or face coverings while not eating, drinking, or performing, regardless of vaccination status. Effective face coverings must completely cover the nose and mouth and must be worn at all times unless actively consuming food or beverage. Face shields, gaiters and bandanas are not acceptable as primary face coverings.
